Summer Cabin and surrounding areas

IMG_6074 * We drove up north to Ornskoldsvik, a 6 hour drive, where Ulrika grew up and where the wedding would take place. This was taken at her father, Tord's, house. * 730 x 1106 * (62KB)

IMG_6075 * This is Tord's summer cabin, he built it himself about 27 years ago. It is on a small island that he owns. Ulrika, Karl, Yvonne and myself stayed here for about a week. * 1199 x 899 * (156KB)

IMG_6101 * Yvonne and I headed the 25 miles into town on our own, and realized we could not read the menus. Up north not as many folks speak english, and at this small place we were able to order a hamburger...Not very Swedish, but it was good. * 899 x 1199 * (86KB)

IMG_6137 * Ulrika's father is one handy man, he built the rock solid cabin and other out buildings, but his bridge left a little to be desired. The water is only about 3 - 4 feet deep here, but crossing this bridge in a car that was loaded with about 500 lbs of alcohol was a tad scary * 899 x 1199 * (150KB)

IMG_6149 * On another side trip Yvonne and I took to another small town, Solleftea, where we tried Swedish Pizza, again we had a language barrier and had trouble ordering, but it was all fun. Swedish Pizza is much different then ours, the dough is more of a really flat bread, the cheese is different and so on. * 899 x 1199 * (118KB)
